MilkGuard FD Alarms

The MilkGuard FD continuously monitors critical parameters and alerts you immediately when something is wrong.

Alarm

Low Temperature — Pipeline Cleaning

This alarm occurs when a pipeline cleaning does not reach the required temperature. If the target of 40 °C (104 °F) for 4 minutes is not met, an alarm is generated.

Possible causes
  • Water heater is starting to fail
  • Pipe wash not started
  • Wash valves not in proper position
  • Pre cooler still running during the wash
  • Plugged screen in wash circulation loop
  • Not enough water volume to maintain temperature
  • Mixing valve adding cold water during hot cycle
  • Faulty check valve
Alarm

Milk Too Warm

If the milk is not cooled within the required timeframe, a regulatory alarm occurs. The MilkGuard FD warns you 10 minutes after milking if cooling is insufficient.

Possible causes
  • Not enough cooling capacity
  • Failed compressor
  • Cooling efficiency is gradually degrading
  • Radiator needs to be cleaned
  • Leak in freon line
  • Thermostat has failed
  • Thermostat is not set to proper temperature
Alarm

Switch On Cooler

If milk cooling equipment is not turned on for the first milking, an alarm occurs. The MilkGuard FD detects a temperature drop to confirm that cooling is active.

Possible causes
  • Forgot to switch on cooler
  • Failed compressor
  • Freon leak in cooling lines
